Tips for Women Running in Warmer Weather

As you may have noticed it is getting warmer & warmer, which is absolutely brilliant but perhaps you are finding it harder to run around the streets and trails of Redhill and Reigate. Don't forget the 5 golden Reigate Ladies Joggers running rules for running in the warmer weather.

  1. Stay hydrated 💧 - Drink before runs and make sure you have access to fluids if you know you will be running longer than 30 minutes; which is 99% of all our Redhill and Reigate run sessions!

  2. Choose your kit wisely 🎽- Choose light-coloured, loose-fitting clothing that will help your body breathe and cool itself down naturally.

  3. Don't push it! 🥵 Heat and humidity mean that you shouldn't push yourself unnecessarily. Don't try to beat the heat. At Reigate Ladies Joggers our focus is always on effort rather than pace.

  4. Wear Sunscreen🧴- Protect your skin with a waterproof sunscreen that has an SPF of at least 15 and offers broad-spectrum protection, which means it protects against both UVA and UVB rays.

  5. Make a Splash 💦- Use water to cool yourself during runs. If you are overheating, splashing water on your head and body will cool you down quickly and have a lasting effect as the water evaporates from your skin.
